Babcock, an American clergyman and 19th century writer As a child of an alcoholic father, I learned early on the importance of success or at least its appearance. My father, a former U.S. marine and a troubled Vietnam Veteran ‘68, was completely at a loss over his career and his life after returning home from the war. Haunted, he often spent many evenings and almost all of his paycheck at a neighborhood bar called The Quarter Note. He brought home only headaches to our small family.
